MADIA RESIDENCE

The Madia Residence exists in Pasadena, California on a large lot complete with the main house, a detached garage, and a pool.

The Client requested to better integrate the detached garage, backyard, and pool with the rest of the house because they felt the following were too isolated and awkward to access due to them being far and disconnected from the rest of the property.

To better integrate and manage flow to the backyard, garage, and pool, designs included a patio and pergola attached to the main house that would open up the kitchen to the backyard, the addition of a wooden gate and trellis to mark the entrance to the backyard, and a covered outdoor lounge adjacent to the pool deck that included a cooking station and fireplace. The pool deck was also replaced.
