PABLO UNDURRAGA, AIA principal
Pablo is the founder and principal of JPU Architects. He holds a Master’s of Urban Design from the University of California at Berkeley and a 7-year Professional Degree of Architecture and Building Science from the Pontificia Universidad Cattolica de Chile. Pablo has been a licensed architect since 2009 and is currently registered in the state of Colorado. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Custom Residential Architects Network (CRAN)
During the early 2000’s, Pablo worked as an urban designer on master planning projects in California, in the northeastern United States and abroad, including the preparation of Masterplans and specific plans for Santa Ana and Visalia in California, Atrisco in New Mexico, New London, Connecticut and the envisioning of a new city on the outskirts of Zhengzhou, China. In parallel, Pablo worked as an architect in a variety of project types, including institutional, educational, transportation, and residential, before first launching JPU Architects in 2009 in Pasadena, California.
Since re-establishing his practice in 2016 in Colorado, Pablo’s work at JPU has centered on residential projects, with a focus on sound building science as an integral part of the design process. For Pablo, new homes and additions should be beautiful and well-integrated with their surroundings, but the principles of efficiency, durability, longevity, and environmental responsibility are indispensable to his practice.
